PROJECT OVERVIEW

Day trip to Piran and Lipica is just one of the musts when visiting Slovenia. Lipica, the world´s cradle of all Lipizzaner horses is also the oldest European stud farm breeding a single breed of horse. Its beginnings reach in the year 1578.

Romantic medieval coastal town of Piran is also called the town of worlds famous violinist Tartini. It is located at the very end of Piran peninsula.  Once important port has preserved medieval basis until now days. Due to long tradition in Salt panning, we can easily claim that it has grown on the salt. On this trip we explore Tartini’s square with stone flag poles, Tartini’s statue, Church of saint Peter, Church of saint George, Venetian house, Apollonio (zaccaria) house, Punta – the net of streets so narrow, that two people can hardly pass by each other and many other things that are just waiting to reveal the stories of medieval times. In 2 hours city walk we`ll discover them all. Both, Piran and Lipica bring us back to medieval times.
